I was just in third grade, and could not understand. It almost seemed trivial, but looking back with a more developed understanding of it made me feel very depressed about the situation. Please freely share your thoughts, no one here should be criticized!

I was off from work that day. I woke up and turned on the tv and it was after the first plane twc. I could not believe what i was seeing. I was so shocked and i got on the phone and called my family and friends to ask them if they seen what was going on. And i was watching when the second plane was apporaching and i thought what the heck is that plane doing. And when it hit i started to cry. And then the rest of the news about the two other planes. I thought god is this the begininng of the end of the world. And when i went back to work on the 12th they had the tvs going all day long and for the rest of that week. It was very hard for me and my co-workers that week. We were talking about it night and day and then going home and watching it on tv. It is one of the events like that space shuttle blowing up and i will never forget it.

I would never forget, I was in the sixth grade and we were looking at the news at noon on channel 9, suddenly all I seen was an airplane crashing into the World Trade Center. I thought it was for play, so I didn't pay any attention to it, then I ask the teacher what was going on, then she like an airplane was hijacked and was sent to destroy the World Trade Center, then I understood what had happened and that on this day every year, it is something that will never be forgotten.

Oh wow!! what a day that was, I thought things couldn't get any worse....... day started off fine and good. I was napping about 1:15 or so the vice principal brought my son home to be reprimanded for acting out at school. Just so happened that my son, who should have been paying attention to what the principal and I were talking about, changed channels and said "that building was just hit by two planes" The principal excused himself by saying "Mrs.*******, can we discuss this tomorrow?". I, of course, said "yes, no problem". I later learned that he had a family member in that very building. I felt so bad for everyone. My son and I sat on the sofa and watched in horror and learned of so many lives lost and the Daycare children.

I was in 4th grade when my teacher recieved a phone call and told us that something bad had just happened. All the class asked her what happened but she told us it was up to our parents to tell us the bad news. When I got home I saw my dad sitting on the couch watching the new and the first thing I saw was a plane hitting the World Trade Center. I will never forget that day.

I was getting ready to go to school and my mom told me to turn on the TV ... I was in college at the time -- I wasn't sure if I should still go to class that day, but I did. Then a few days later I was in my car at a stop light and Alan Jackson's song "Where were you when the world stopped turning?" came on and the line "did you feel guilty because you're a survivor?" hit me really hard, because I had thought why did I deserve to live when all those innocent people died. I just sat there in my car and cried.

Being a Flight Attendant...I was working. I flew into Boston Logan that morning (1 AM on 9/11) and was sleeping since we got in so late. We were grounded in Boston for several days and it was very strange to see military planes flying over the city of Boston.

I was on my way to work and my husband called to tell me of the first plan...my friend is a dj at a local radio station and when the 2nd plane hit I knew it must have looked aweful because her voice was broken and she started crying and told the listeners she was just gonna play some music until someone else could come on and tell us what had happend...it was sad, when I got home and turned on the tv...I just cried. Ths morning on my way into work there was a guy (6:45am) standing on a corner w/ a huge flag and a sign on him that read REMEMBER 911...I stopped across the street and got him a coffee. he just had tears in his eyes...very emotional 5 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday! GOD BLESS AMERICA and all the children who lost parents that day!!

I had just got up and I was living with my in-laws at the time. I was in my robe and I sat down to turn the today show on. It was just after it happened and they were trying to figure out what was going on. My father-in-law was getting ready to leave for work and I stopped him and showed him what was going on. It was right at that moment that the second plane hit and we were in shock. I really relate to that Alan Jackson song Where were you when the world stopped turning. That is just what I felt! :(

i was at work just going on break and on the tv came a picture of the twin towers smoking. we all thought it was a practical joke or an accident then we realized it was very real and we all started to cry for the people stuck in there. it should have never happened.
