Can any one tell me why, the out side treads on my GoodYear tires are cuping Seems to be wearing the same amount on both driver and passenger side, but only on the rear tires.
The tires only have 5500 miles on them.
or could the shocks be bad, This is all happening on a 2005 Dodge Dakota, 4.7 lt with an Auto Trans,

Rear tire wear on a Dakota will NOT be an alignment problem, no adjustments there. Do know that Goodyear Invicta tire in the 80's and 90's were noted for this type of wear though there were no problems with the vehicle. Shocks are possible but you would have to abused an '05 to need shocks. Best bet rotate tire religiously.

Check the tire pressure. There rear axle is straight. Goodyear tires are junk, so i would go back to the dealer and make them answer this question.

You probably need a rear wheel alignment

You answered it the shocks are shot or the camber and toe settings are wrong. Take it in and have a mechanic check it out
