To us the People Yes!! We Did not know that it was going to Happen. But i can tell you who know About, Our Government had an idea that it was going to Happen but thay didn't do any about it.

Anyone in the US who followed current events knew from about the mid-1990's that a major and highly destructive terror attack sponsored by Islamic extremists was going to take place in the US, sooner or later.

The only question was exactly where, exactly how and exactly when.

(BTW that crap about street vendors knowing about 9/11 in advance is about as credible as the persistent myth that all the Jewish businesses in the WTC were empty of personnel that day. Both claims are pure hogwash).

It was to the common American, but not a surprise to the Government. The politicians never took the threats seriously.

Bush knew about it. But he could not avoided it. Let's suppose he sent a couple of F-14's and blew the planes out of the sky. Yes, the World Trade Center could be saved, but history will judge Bush as a murderer because he did not kill only a couple of terrorist pilots, but their ill fated passengers as well. Still, he will be judged, because he let the WTC to be destroyed as well. Don't you think ?

my aunt works near the pentagon. on 9/11, none of the middle-eastern street vendors showed up, and there were a lot of them. obviously, THEY KNEW it was coming

Yes, it was and I think that with better cooperation between
intelligence agencies, this hopefully another attack can be adverted.
