Never heard of it. Typically, workman's comp is paid by insurance paid to the government by employers. So the government handles it. It is paid to someone if they are injured at work or during work and are unable to work. A doctor must give you the orders that you are not allowed to work due to the injury you received during working. Unless a doctor is involved, it is very hard (and even more rare) for a workman's comp case to be denied.

I guess you could make your claim for this under small claims court. That is if you haven't exceeded the limit provided for in your jurisdiction. Legal fees for lawyers cost so much these days. If you can bring your case by yourself then why not do it. There is this website that has information on small claims on all states in the US.
