Mr.Chicken : think back to World Cup 2002 QuarterFinal. Brasil has no fear but every team including England "Chickens Out" when they have to face the "Mighty Brasil!"

the level of play of brasil is so much higher or it was for many years and they still have very good players on there team and a lots of new faces that will go to the 2010 cup in africa,we have won the fifa world cup 5 times now more then anybody else and that sticks to you and remember that we have always had good players from pele to zico to ronaldo and ronaldinho brasil always has very good players on the team the cbf always does good in picking the team and to answer to mr chicken the only team that brasil has trouble whit is France we are 3 and 2 with 3 drawn now in the case of England we are 5 and 1 in favor of brasil with 5 drawn so know you history before you talk

it's because Brasil changed the way the game of football is played, so it makes them very dangerous, but i don't think other teams are afraid, i think teams get excited to play Brasil, especially the smaller countries, because there playing the best, so they have to play there best to beat them up, so it gives them a challenge, take Ghana for insistence, they were so excited to play Brasil they said it was a dream come true to play the best, but the only question is that day you play Brasil, o you have what it takes?

Same reason as countries being scared of playing Canada in hockey. Brazil is the best soccer team in the world.

Generally, Brazil continue to produce world class players in every position apart from goalkeepers and centre backs. And even they arent that bad (apart from Roque Junior)
But to follow on from your question, they arent so scared of Brazil at the moment - they are going through a transitional stage and despite still having class players a solid European side should beat them at the moment.

Unless they are comparable in strength, every team will be worried about facing them.
Its the same as the names FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter, Juventus etc. It strikes fear into the hearts of the opposition.

Argentina is one of the few that are fearless against Brazil. They are not scared of them because they have played against them countless of times, but being not scared doesn't mean that they are able to beat Brazil.
