publish proffesionally? getting published in any way is a big thing in itself.

publishing house is an obvious answer. but it's not easy to get published by big publishing house unless your work is of high quality. if you want to publish your poems anyway, then you can enter competitions on poetry.com. but if your poem gets selected for an anthology, you'll have to pay to get your copy of that book.

however, the best option for self-publishers is lulu.com. you'll publish your book for free. you'll have to set a royalty to them for each book sold. you'll be the sole owner. you'll own the copyright. everytime a copy of your your book is sold, you'll make profit and lulu.com will get it's royalty.

lulu.com does not copy edit your work. you'll have to edit and design it yourself. otherwise, it's pretty cool.

ps:click on my name and read the poems, tell me what you think

You send mss. to journals that publish poetry, with a SASE. They send you rejection slips. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

If you are any good, eventually you get pubished. You get paid in sample copies of the mag.

BTW, if you want the pubishing credits, it's a good idea to research the mags first, so you are not wasting the editor's time with stuff that's not a good fit for their style.
