I'm into modeling, and I've been told I would get really far in the business, but the only concern was my height. I'm only 5'2, but I'm a really confident person and I know that I would be able to do anything that I set my mind to. Help!

Hello there, and I believe I can help you a little with your question, given that I am a fashion photographer. First off, you need to decide what kind of modeling you wish to do and don't let the height thing get to you. Are you looking to model for marketing or for fashion? Also, before starting your modeling career you will need to find a photographer around your area that can help you build your portfolio. These should consist of headshots (waist up) photos that will show your best angles without showing your height. In addition, depending on what kind of modeling you want to pursue (e.g. Modeling for a possible kid's show), you should talk with your photographer and set a shoot on location either outside, or in a set (I would recommend a white or black background for your first shoots).
After you have these photos done, you can search many websites that will help you, but remember that most talent scouts will find you. Try to get your face in any kind of magazine or newspaper you can find. Alot of local magazines will accept your photos (they won't pay you), and you'll get a copy of the magazine (which is better than money when you start).
I could be here writing all day, but my last two pieces of advice would be to find a photographer that is not traditional cause the pictures to me look boring, try to find someone young and just starting out because they have alot of talent waiting to be unleash. When you meet with any photograpther, go with an escort for you safety because you don't know who the photographer may be. Last but no least, you will find the terms TFP/TFCD (Time for Prints/CD = nobody gets money, just exchange of photos) and of course, paid assignments. A great website to check out is www.ModelMayhem.com . It's a free website that alot of models and photographer go to to share ideas and help each other.

I hope this information was helpful, and the best of luck.

Honey, Marilyn Monroe was 5'2" and a size 10 and was said to be one of the most beautiful women in show business. Stick with it and never give up. Besides...thats why heels were invented. Good luck.
