Nope and never will. I'm from New York and had friends in the WTCs. Some got out and some did not. Plus my husband is military and was sent over seas after the attack. I fly my flag on my house at 1/2 mast every 9/11 and will always do so.

I'm as patriotic as anyone you could run into, but I hate having it rammed down my throat starting every year at late August by the media. They have taken a tragedy and still trying to draw it out and turn a buck on it. Constantly having it tossed back in my face is like being forced to remember when my grandmother died or how painful it was getting kicked in the groin. No one can forget, but I don't understand what you mean by "have you done anything special for it". Do you mean light candles or something like that?

Sad to say but, 20 years down the road, we will all forget. Not the event, but the details. We all have those moments where somebody mentions about a past event and we all go...oh yea, I forgot about that. How many people can remember where and when Kennedy got shot? Pearl Harbor?
It is sad that we cannot remember things of this magnitude, but it is a fact of life. So much happens in the world. I can remember when a couple of friends died in Iraq, but couldn't tell you what I was doing, or exactly what happened. It will only take one more event somewhere else like this for us to forget the past and to worry about now.
I am not anti-America, the truth is, I love it. I am sympathetic for those who lost their lives and the families of those people, but we will ll have to move on and look to tomorrow.
"Memory is a net; one finds it full of fish when he takes it from the brook; but a dozen miles of water have run through it without sticking."

no i have not forgotten and i don't think anyone ever will. that day 5 years ago left an emptiness in everyone even if they didn't lose any one in the attacks. it was a horrible horrible day and it will stay in my memory for as long as i shall live. my heart goes out to all those families who lost loved ones. the people who are responsible for this, well i shouldn't say people because they are not they are evil and horrible things, they should rot in hell. the usa needs to stay together and get through this and show them that we did not fall apart but brought us closer together. we will never forget!!!!!!!

I think you would have to be a complete freak of nature if you were able to 'forget' about it. Of course not.
Something special?? I guess just remembering and mourning the people that lost their lives that day, and their friends and family.
