Why is Cakemania so addicting?

I know I am not the only one (well, besides my husband, whom I've gotten hooked) I was up unti 2 in the morning playing last night, and then I dreamed about the Darn game! Between that and Diner Dash, I get no work done at work! They are both silly little games, though. Why is this?

i dont know. i personally prefer Diner Dash 2
