Yes, the typos, the misspelled words and the grammar on this site are atrocious.

Yes! I too feel the same way. I am pedantic also.
QUOTE:
The more I read the questions and answers to this site
Surely that should be:
The more I read the questions and answers on this site
QUOTE;
For pittys sake
That should be:
For pity's sake
QUOTE:
It is extremely annoying reading some of the questions and then asking myself "what did they just ask" and the same for the answers.
That should be:
It is extremely annoying reading some of the questions and answers, then asking myself "what did they just ask?"
But then, you would be verbating a transitive verb in the same sentence. That's just wrong.
So maybe:
It is extremely annoying reading some of the questions and answers, then asking myself "what was the enquiry?"
QUOTE:
Some are so poorly written, I can't understand what they were saying.
Shouldn't that be:
Some are so poorly written, I can't understand what they are saying
You are using a present tense ( I can't understand) and a past tense (what they were saying. ) all in the same sentence. Which of course, is grammatically incorrect. A mistake of the highest order and the lowest literary grade Madam!
4/10 Must try harder.

"ever went beyond middle school" should be " ever graduated from and went beyond middle school"
"for pittys sake" should be "for pities sake"
"annoying reading some of the" should be "annoying to read some of these"
the section "what did they just ask" should be formatted as follows;
...asking myself, "What did they just ask?", and the same can be said for some of the answers.
And to answer your final question, yes. I do feel like that quite often.
;)
The lack of educational pride in the US is frightening. Carlos Mencia often tells people that it's not because people form other countries are willing to work cheaper than people in the US, but that when they come here they exhibit better written and spoken language skills!

I think that many of the people writing here are
1. Foreigners in which case you should be happy they are able to construct sentences that are mildly comprehensible.
2. Teens in which case you have to excuse them, the current educational system does not allow for actual education, but rather for an excuse not to leave back those who have not learned anything as well as promoting hatred of learning to all the rest.
3. Adults who are uneducated and don't even know what spell check means.
4. The rest of us who can actually spell.
Toodles.
P.S.: It's not for PITTYS sake, it's for PETE'S sake

YES!!!! If this wasn't so addicting, then I wouldn't come on here anymore! But I can't help it...The spell checker is right there, though, I wish people would use it and then maybe they will get better answers to their questions!

No, I've never heard of any spell check people. Ever heard of how to use commas properly?

Yes. They should probably be advised the "check spelling" link is right above what they are typing.
Why do they say "dat" for that, etc. I hear you.
