I call it my heaven and my hell...hardly opium.....but, life was better without it. It complicates matters, and we need more paper. I was hoping we would not need paper with the net. However, it has its good points. Research, but ya cant really know if it is true or not, booking flights. E. mail, the best invention. and not much else really. I suppose it is used badly by 70 percent of people, but I just bank, e. and answer questions when I cannot sleep. I have no speakers, got a good stereo. So really, apart from always protecting the darling thing from viruses microsoft invent to sell you (if you are foolish enough to buy any software) software to put it right....it aint a bad thing, it is part of our lives now. Better than t.v. tho...yes. not opium, more tedium really... but you do need to be on sommat to be on it, get it

It is the new opium, true. It is also full of control. I have had some answers taken off because I suppose the censors do not like them. I've also had questions removed due to censorship. Those dumbos who trumpet that we live in a free society "Oh look at us, not like China, we are free, they envy us." Yes, they are the thickest plonkers there are. That is what makes me slightly vexed. That you could go around with so much ignorance!

No. That's religion. The Internet is full of dissent and disagreement, and plain old fashioned nutters. It's more like the Wild West than a control mechanism. Thankfully.

I think Karl Marx would disagree. The internet opens a range of opportunities for everybody, where as Marx saw religion as the oppressor.

I think it depends on the way you use it, not necessarily an opium if you know how to do it, but yes there is that risk.

To a certain degree this is correct. However, for those with an opposite view to yours, they can easily have you removed. Such is the 'freedom of speech' as practiced by yahoo!

Yes. It has replaced television as the favourite drug for those who don't socialise in the real world.
