Since a woman can choose whether or not to have a child when she's pregnant, can a man choose whether or not to pay child support? What do you think of that logic? It's his child too, what if he didn't want it to be born?

that is a good question...I'm going to have to agree with you here. It's NOT right for the female to have all the choices & power where this is concerned. btw, I'm a Mom & step mom & believe me I know both sides of getting & receiving (well that is back when he used to pay it) child support.
Men should not HAVE to pay for a child they didn't have a choice about from the start.
Yikes...I better go find a flame retardant suit ;-)

Unrelated concepts.

Pre-conception, both people have equal rights to choose whether to be involved in the pregnancy (not counting rape or similar situations). At that point, the future father has the same rights as the future mother. It's not gender dependent, and the later financial issues are a side effect of the physical decisions made.

During pregnancy, the would-be father is not involved. The women is choosing whether her body will be physically involved in the pregnancy process. The later financial issues are again a side-effect of the physical choices made.

The reason the man has no say in the process during pregnancy is that it is not his body involved. He is not required to be a living incubator, and cannot force or prohibit any medical procedure from being done on the woman.

After birth, both parents have equal obligations to provide for the welfare of the child. At that point, the roles are again equal, and both are equally involved. Again, it's not gender dependent, since both parents are on the financial hook for child support.

That's the fundamental difference. Before pregnancy and after birth, both parents are equally involved and have equal rights and obligations. During the pregnancy, only the woman is directly physically involved, so she has special rights regarding her involvement.

The natural conclusion from your leading question is that the government should be allowed to force women to be human incubators while allowing the fathers the option to relieve themselves of any financial obligation for the children's care. And if government can force a woman to bear children, they can also prevent a woman from bearing children.

Clearly public policy is served by holding fathers responsible for children they bring into this world, while the Constitution does not allow the government to dictate whom you may marry, whether you have children, when you have children, or how many children you choose to have. Abortion may be morally wrong, but government has no right to control reproductive rights. (See China as an example.)

The question that should be asked is the baby a pregnant woman is carrying a human being? I think so. therefore it should be entitle to protection under the law. also why is it that almost every one agrees that if you murder a pregnant woman you should be charged with two counts of murder but if the mother decides to murder her baby its ok? I feel the answer to ending the whole debate is education and it starts with me and every one else who has children we need to teach our children that if you have sex there is a chance you will become a parent not if you have sex you may have to make a choice there is no choice in my eyes its a child. also one thing no one ever thinks about with this issue is what the baby feels when its being killed. they say that a baby starts to have feelings as early as 9 weeks after conception. what do you think that baby feels as it arms and legs are being sucked off its body by a vacuum? every one who thinks it feels no pain needs to watch the video "The silent scream"

Don't expect too much logic from the pro-choice crowd. They are not interested in being logical, just in being selfish: "Keep your laws off my body!" That's about as intelligent as they get.
