You don't see many Inuit (Eskimos) wearing grass skirts or Hawaiians wearing fur parkas.

Almost every aspect of human life has been influenced by geography. Clothing and diet are two big ones. Obviously if you live somewhere cold, you will own more cloths and diet changes depending on what is available where you live.

Many years ago, if you lived somewhere where there was plentiful fishing, you ate fish. Somewhere with lots of fruit trees, then fruit. Scarcity of resources in some areas would also have a big effect since it might be more necessary to fight for the things you need if there is less to be had.

These differences even lead to differences in religion. If you lived somewhere where no rain or too much might destroy your food you might pray to the rain.

If you think about it you can probably come up with all kinds of examples like these.

Geography influences the way people live in a lot of ways if you think about it. If you live in an area where it snows all the time, you can't go swimming outdoors, you have to wear winter clothes all the time, and if you are one of the unlikey ones, you might slip on your butt a few times. If you live in a third world country, you can't eat as much as you do in the United States, and you have to face that facts that you might not eat today or tomorrow, or the next day. Hopefully that helps.

I can tell you how geography affects politics...that's what I'm learning about in my Global Politics class. Countries like the US that are isolated from other countries by oceans or mountains ultimately stay out of wars more than the countries that are surrounded by other countries. Germany, for instance, is in the heart of Europe. It has had trouble keeping a steady government for years because of it's relationships with it's neighboring countries. It's alittle off topic, but politics influence how people live, so I kind of answered your question :)

Very much so... your geography determines what native plants and animals you have available, what natural resources you have to construct buildings with.

As someone already said, take people that live in the Arctic... how do they dress, what do they eat, how do they live? Now compare that to people that live near or in the desert?

Geography influences are enormous.

In ancient Greece people settled based on the terrain, who they were, and the dangers they faced. The "Greeks" were late invaders into the penninsula of Greece. They were cattle herders, possibly nomadic. They did not like to eat fish and prefered to own land. So they settled on the plains of Greece. Fish did provide a study supply of food, and more importantly access to the sea provided trade. Given the rocky coast of Greece there are a limited (although large) number of sites suitable as ports. So cities developed around those. Given the raiding, piracy, and open warfare defense was necessary. Cities were built on hills or at least had fortresses on them. So cities required a place where there were fields for farming, a port for access to the sea, and a hill for defense.

the enviornment you are in affects the way you live because it is something you experience everyday. take alaska for example, 6 months of light 6 months of dark, the people there on average are depressed during the darkness because you need sunlight to have a mental well-being, and they are insomniacs the 6 moths of light because they cant sleep. ya know what i mean?
