Abortion kills a beating heart. The memories of the fetus's agony of being aborted will stay with you.
~~unknown~~
No, I don't believe in abortion with so many other couples wanting to adopt.

God, it's people like you that make this country so damn conservative.
It IS the decision of the mother whether or not she will go through an abortion. Every women knows they are risks and effects of an abortion, but if that woman was raped, or very young, and they Cannot and SHOULDNOT have to go through all the hardships that the pregnancy causes, they should have the option of an abortion.

The idea of abortion is NOT ONLY whether or not the mother will be able to take care of the baby. Ask mothers out there, the act of CARRYING a child for 9 months is stressful in itself. If a woman was raped, she should not have to go through the trauma of being raped AND the trauma of carrying a young one for 9 months (meaning a change in lifestyle, eating habits, exercise, taking lammaze classes)...

AND, NONE of you seem to think that it the adoption agencies are FULL, and that a LOT of babies right now that desperately want homes, don't get them... Women are giving up babies left and right, and you say "Oh, there are MANY homes for them"... NO, there aren't... How many of you have heard about the LAWSUIT again Child Haven????
They are JUST WAY too many kids out there without homes....

Abortion is another option that shoudl NOT be overlooked.... coservativism is breaking the society as we know it... I'm not saying everyone should be liberal, Im' just saying people need to THINK about an issue in its ENTIRITY before jumping to conclusions...

I dont agree with and wont condone abortion. Its taking an innocent life that cant protect his or herself and making it pay for the mistake of having sex with his or her life....why is it the baby's fault that a person ends up having sex full welling knowing the concequences and what could happen if they do? Its not and the innocent baby shouldnt have to pay with its life.

Abortion is murder........we have laws that say if someone murders another person they get life in jail or sentenced to death, but its ok to kill an innocent baby that is inside the mother and cant defend itself....something is very wrong about that. People say its not a baby just a bunch of cells, but that is a lie.....a baby is a baby whether its inside the mother or has been born into the world. The other argument is what if the mother has been raped......well, there are plenty of families that want a baby.....women that can't have babies that would willing adopt......why not give the baby to one of these women or families instead of killing it and making it pay for something horrible that was done but wasnt it's fault.

No one, has the right to play God and take away life .......in ending that little baby's life a person is also ending any plans God may of had for that little one through out his or her life......we all had a right and chance to live, so why doesnt a unborn innocent baby?

Abortion is Murder plain and simple.

It's a woman's right to have an abortion or not. Plain and simple. If a woman wants an abortion, she can have one. What if your daughter got pregnant? What would you want her to do? What if she's 11-14? What if she got pregnant by incest or rape? I think that since women have other rights, you should choose whether or not you should have an abortion. I think it is wrong that the government doesn't want women to have an abortion unless it puts the mother in danger of her health suffering. Health problems usually arise several months down the road from conception. A doctor can tell if a woman shouldn't have a baby from the time of conception because of the age of the female. I think that since women have the right to vote, serve in the military, and do what men have done for centuries, they should be allowed to say what happens to their fetus, whether or not they want an abortion or not.

As a mother of two, I can honestly say that it is the woman's choice whether or not to continue the pregnancy. No man or anyone else for that matter should be able to make that decision for her. If there is a serious problem with the fetus, the mother's health is at risk, the pregnancy is due to rape, incest, etc. Then, yes, I am all for it. I personally could not do that. I know someone who has on a couple occasions (as if once wasn't enough... *rolling eyes) and she isn't of very sound mind now. It definitely does something to the mental state of the expectant mother.

It is sadistic ,A tiny baby that is alive with arms and legs. I seen an abortion done on a show they showed it with an ultrasound and when those tongs were trying to grab a hold of the little baby it was trying to move away from it. Anybody capable of this is sick in the head and should have there head examined.Disgusting thoughts of people without love or compassion or enough common sense to use birth control murder tiny babies. They are either retarded or have no knowledge that a God that created their lives loves them so they seem to have no respect for life.God has already accounted for that tiny baby inside of that tummy.Could you imagine Gods tears.I'm in tears right now.

I say no. Because we are an educated society. Everyone knows that even "protected" sex can lead to a baby, so people who arent mature enough to raise a child shouldnt be having sex. And if they make a "mistake" they should take responsibility for their actions. Abortion is ridiculous, it encourages casual sex, because people figure they can just get rid of their little "problem"
I say, step up to the plate, grow up, and take reponsibility for your actions. Or dont have sex.
In the case of rape, I encourage adoption if the mom just cant get over it. But I do in fact have a good friend who was raped and kept her baby who is now a healthy and normal child. Why did she do that? Because she realized that a life was created. It was no longer all about her, that little life deserved a chance, and she believed in her ability to love. Abortion is taking the easy way out. If you were to drink and drive, get in an accident and kill someone, you dont get to pay someone to make that mistake disappear, its with you for the rest of your life.
I had a child when people thought I should have aborted. She turned out to be the most amazing thing, and my husband and I have no regrets.
As for the argument that a baby should be aborted if the moms life is at risk:
my mother spent her entire pregnancy in intensive care. she was so sick they insisted that if she didnt abort me, that she and i would both die, or i at least would be a vegetable. they tried to yank her rights and force her to abort me, but she fought for me, and we are both alive and well today.

*** from another point of view, no, i dont think abortion is right under ANY circumstances....
BUT!!!!
3,000 babies are aborted every day in the US. imagine the overpopulation. imagine how many abused or unwanted babies there would be in the already horrible foster care system.
is abortion a NECESSARY EVIL????????????

I think it's a horrible thing. I have a friend named Maryann and in 1987 she got an abortion 3 months before she got married because she didn't want anyone to think she had had sex before marriage. (Dumb, I know). Anyway, after wards, she had several miscarriages. As of today, she is on her 3rd marriage and cannot forgive herself for killing her baby, because she feels that that would have been the only baby she could have been able to have. Organizations like PP have been lying to women for years about what abortion really is. It's very sad.

I think it's wrong to use abortion as a form of birth control. Everyone knows how to get pregnant, so why is everyone so surprised when they end up pregnant. I feel like people (both men & women) should think about the consequenses before they jump in bed together. I only agree with abortion in emergency cases such as rape.

I agree with the vast majority of the previous answers. Killing is killing. When I was much younger, I once thought I was in a position where I wanted my girlfriend to get an abortion when we thought we were pregnant, but thank God, there was no pregnancy and she and I did not have to do it. Now that I'm in my fifties, I actually feel guilty about thinking that way--that is, knowing that I would have been willing to kill such a wonderful gift from God. I know people who are anxious to adopt. No on abortion. Supercityrob

I do not feel that I could have an abortion but if another woman makes that choice I would be ok with it. Everyone has different circumstances in their lives so of course what might be right for someone might not be right for someone else. I think the only way I would do that would be if something could jeopardize my health or trhe babies.
