Netcraft estimated that at the end of March 2006 the Internet had a total of 80,655,992 websites, double when compared to 40 million in March 2003, and an increase of 3.1 million new websites since February 2006.
In this count, blogs that are part of a single website / service such as Blogger.com, are not counted. Only the main website (in this example Blogger.com) is counted, the rest being considered to be pages of Blogger.com.
Blogs that have a different set of hostnames, are considered different websites, thus making the number of 80 million an accurate figure.

I don't think there is an exact number. I've heard somewhere before that if you were to start going through all the websites one by one, it would be impossible to acomplish in your lifetime because there are so many and so many are added each day. Google the word porn and see how many results there are. thats probally approximatly a tenth of them I think.

ruffly 97million "known" websites. this does not include sites on private servers, subdomained sites and sites that block search engines, cache's and other forms of site tracking
