Jack is just pimping himself out to Quebec and trying to buy the Muslim votes there. Next he will be wrapping himself in the Hezbollah flag.
Suprising though, the Muslim Congress doesn't support his idea of a pullout. I like what one guy wrote in the newspaper, that he should send his wife over there to negotiate with the Taliban.

I don't think talking to them is going to solve a dammed thing. But I also think that the Canadians all though very well intentioned are waisting their time as well. The people in Afghanistan have been at war for ever, with one country or another. They don't know any different . Yes,,, as a country we would like to see a stop put to it. I fail to see how Canada can accomplish what the Russians or the Americans could not. The Americans all but pulled out of there except for air strikes. The Russians eventually pulled out and we will likely pull out as well after a few years and countless dead Canadians, and leave them to what they know best.Killing and torture. If the Afghan people want a stop put to it, They just have to start stepping up to bat and handling their own defence, Its been 5 years now why are we over their dieing when the Afghans are not .i know innocents are but not many Afghans police considering its their country. If there want peace and prosperity they should all signing up for the military forces or force a draft in that country and make them more responsible for their own defence . As a peaceful civilized country I think enough Canadians have died. and we both know the end result will be the same as it is today, as it was yesterday. They don't really want peace. Not bad enough to put their lives on the line for it, So why should we.

Jack Layton never does anything but play at politics. Even his marriage was a political decision! I've always said that the NDP made a real mistake putting him at the head of the party. It ensured that the NDP would NEVER win a federal election.
Unfortunately, I think Afghanistan is going to end up being this country's Viet Nam. With the Conservative government making the decisions, there is no hope in hell of "cool heads prevailing" and getting Canada pulled out of the country before they kill even more of our troops. What is next? Forced conscription, like in the U.S.?

Wow.
What the heck is in the air up there in Canada. I cannot BELIEVE the Canadian government paid Olson's wife $10k for every body he led them to. And that he threw the last one in for free?
Geez. I can see how a man like Layton and a man like Olson can come out of the same society. There is no shame, no value upon life, only caving in to save one's skin which never gets saved in the first place.
I wonder if Layton would negotiate with the Taliban when they have him on the gallows after slowly commandeering Canada over the next 20 years. What would his negotiating tactics consist of then?
God Bless America.

I have always suggested we give Jack a few teddy bears and a copy of Cumbayah, go to the Taliban and try to negotiate peace. Hopefully he'll duck when the hatchet comes down around his neck. (reference when the Canadian soldier was severely injured this way).

It'll look stupid if we pull out now, where was he when the conservatives made the decision to extend the mission? Layton's just trying to get some brownie points in case of another election.

You can't negotiate with someone who will not compromise. He needs to read more about the Taliban and their barbaric practices. Makes the war look mild!
