Yea, places like Wal-Wort, Home Depot and Lowe's has small one room A/Cs for about $100 after taxes. I seen them for $88. Should be all you need. Now these the fan run all the time and only the Compressor go off/on with the Thermostat.

I GOT MY AC FROM SEARS, KENMORE ENERGY STAR, 5000BTU AND VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND PORTABLE. THEY WERE EASY TO PUT IN THE WINDOW AND WORK GREAT. I HAVE A 16' X 27' LIVING ROOM AND USUALLY ONE IS GOOD BUT WHEN IT GET UP TO THE 100 MARK TWO ARE BETTER. MY ROOM HAS 2 FULL SUN SIDES WITH WINDOWS AND FRENCH DOORS SO THAT'S WHY I NEED 2. I'VE NEVER DONE A THING TO THEM AND I SPENT ABOUT $170 FOR THEM ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. WELL WORTH THE MONEY CONSIDERING THEY ARE STILL GOING 23-7 MOST OF THE SUMMER. THEY DRIP OUTSIDE AND MY LIGHT BILL NEVER CHANGES. THEY MIGHT BE A BETTER PRICE NOW...

I just got a 12100 btu wall unit for my room 14 x15 and it has not raised my electric bill by more than $7.00 per month. It replaced a 8000 btu old unit.
It could have been smaller but since this is a very humid climate and I have some electronics, like you, in the room, I opted for the extra btu's.
Cost me $190 minus $20 rebate at Brands Mart USA.
It is a dawoo.

Home Depot or Wal Mart (we should be ashamed) 500 btu's only $80.00 , 110 volts, plugs right in, has a built in thermostat. Shazam, set it and forget it!

Sometimes people just want to get rid of them, look in the 'FREE' section first. This is a good time of year to pick up a free one!!

check your existing duct work in the office or home, see if you can add a diffuser or steal air from another area, if not a self contained unit with humidity control will be expensive!

YOu can probably find portable air conditioners at walmart or target or k-mart that don't require having to release water outside.

Here are some pictures of portable AC's. you need to vent these, I think they come with a hose, so you will have to be near the outside.
They are about 300 to start.
