I was constipated on day 4, 5, 6 took some drugs and today is day 9 and i'm constipated. Is this normal? Also my breasts are sore... what is going on.
I was on the patch last year and went off after i heard all the drama. I am getting married and need to be on birth control now.
Is constipation a known side effect of YAZ?

It could very well be a side effect. YAZ seems to increase potassium in the blood stream and although I dont think potassium would constipate a person, it may interfere with your bowel movements for a few days.
However, I would consult your doctor...this medication is still very new and not everyone reacts the same.

Someone else on answers asked a question about Yaz that I could answer since I have been on it since the end of April of this year. I had constipation when I first started Yaz, the first and second pack, I would buy some gas pills and it helped the constipation go away. Now I don't have any problems with it. This is the first birth control that I have been on and I actually love it. So if the constipation is too much for you then I would suggest you see your doc about changing your pills, if not find a otc med to help with the constipation. Hope everything works out.

Any new substance introduced to your body can cause digestive problems which leads to constipation
