i think that is very heartless of you to even say something like that, especially today of all days. my father died in 2001 (not 9/11, but earlier in that year) and every time the anniversary of his death comes around i still get sad and cry, that is just me, one sad story for just me and my family, but for something this large, a national tragedy, something that thousands of people have mourned, and having our lived forever changed (in even the smallest ways, like airport security, or armed national guardsmen around more), for you to just say get over it, that is just completely inhumane...if you have no more hurt feelings or sorrow over this date, and what this date symbolizes then that is you, just don't expect other people (our nation) to get over it just as easily.

what do you think, should we as a nation just push something like this to the backburner? or should we honor those lost, by remembering this day?

Amen!
I believe that people need to stop saying they are sick of 9/11 and start respecting the lives of those who passed away!
9/11 was not only a mark in history but a historic and heroic event. Cops and firemen strived to save the lives of family members that could've easily been yours, mine or theirs.
We should honor the loss and remember this day. It should become a NATIONAL HOLIDAY. I don't believe in pushing this to the back burner, this was a serious event.
Most people that are "tired of hearing" about 9/11 aren't from the United States and have NO IDEA how hard it was here in AMERICA to deal with that.
TO those people who are "so tired of hearing about it", I ask you to do this, think about your mom, your dad, your grandma, your grandpa, your sister, your brother, your child, your best friend, your aunt, your cousin, your husband, your wife; now ask yourself how would you feel if you seen them come flying out of a building, have to look at an autopsy and determine whether or not that is your family member, watch them die?
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL.
These people need to start RESPECTING the people that died on that tragic day.

From the way I understand the question is that the person who is asking it doesn't think we should get over it but is just asking if anyone IS sick of it and wants us to get over it. I could be wrong, but that's how I'm taking the question with this answer. I think there are people out there that are taking it to extremes, particularly politicians who have used it to take away our civil rights. There are also those who use it as a reason to hate people in other countries. And there are also people that I've heard say "why don't we just get the f... over it". The majority of people feel terrible about what happened to the people who died that day and for those who are continuing to suffer. To me, anyone with a heart falls into this last group.

We definetly should honor those that were lost. When I think about it I know that those who died, were someones mother, father, son, daugther etc, they were loved and are missed dearly. I am so sorry to hear about your father, its a pain unlike any other, and I just wish no one would have to feel that way and for those lives that are lost, they should always be remembered, most of those families never got to actually have closure, the site where the twin towers stand is the only thing they have.

You will find that those who want to have a ceremony each year will whine the loudest for in their minds we all should suffer as they are, which is human nature, called "misery loves company" I certainly think that there is a time a place for all this grandness and it should wait for a respectable length of time. But...who am i to say so. I understand the tragedy, but it is time to re-built, go on and remember in our own ways.

God bless those souls that where lost and the families that are still feeling the pain.

It is heartless, to say we should just forget it. If we forget this day of all days, we will be in trouble. Those people died for nothing if we forget this day. It is a day that someone with a evil mind, came into our country to kill 3,000 of our own. They not only killed them, they killed the life we lived for so long. Now we each have to stay vigulant to the fact that it could happen again, while we try to find some kind of peace here in the United States. I'm never going to forget the thumps of people landing on the sidewalk as the buildings are on fire, and eventually tumble down to earth. I will never forget the faces of children terrified, people in so much shock they can't move. I'm angered and will remain so, for in doing so, I"ll be able to find away to protect my own if the terrorist do it again. You have a heartless soul, and when it does occur don't go crying in your martini, ask for forgiveness, for it may be your end of days, which you will have to answer for.

This is a disgusting question, but at least it exercises our right to free speech which is just one of many things that makes our country so great! We should NEVER "get over" it, but we better learn from it and always remember!

Maybe you should just get the **** over yourself. You have no heart and you should have been nose-to-nose with one of the planes a split second before it exploded.
