Richard Nixon did NOT resign when people THOUGHT he was a crook, he resigned when they PROVED he was a crook - there's a very, very big difference there.
A difference that seems to be overlooked when people talk of Bush being a "thief and a liar" .
It is not Bush who is "undermining the troops" - not by any stretch of the imagination - it is people who are asking questions, based on false premises, such as your's.
America is a great country, and you are free to express your opinions - but they will not be respected when they are promoting an agenda of hate and innuendo.

Speakeasy had a terrific answer. He said what I have been preaching all along. The public has lost trust in GW because of the biased news media reporting all the negatives and very few positives. The public is very gullible and after hearing these negative reports over & over, they begin to think that "where there's smoke, there's fire. I think GW does have the trust of the military. I'll be very surprised if that is not fact. Bush's term is up in a short while. Maybe he will not need to quit. He does not strike me as a quitter.

I'm afraid you have all missed the big picture. Iraq is not the next front on the war against fanatical muslims. Iran is. I have two sons 3 and 8 and I am for the draft. We must eradicate this son of a ***** in Iran and all the mullahs on whose behalf their President speaks.
The war on terror will last our lifetimes and if you are not prepared for some level of sacrafice, the you might as well prepare for tears and tombstones of ones you love. They are breeding these maniacs left and right throughout the Middle East at such young ages that it will be decades before we face them in the battle field. Frankly, and bluntly, I am for killing the root, if we can not sway their opinions to the light of civility.

clearly, because if the deaths are severe then it helps there rivalry that that's a quagmire, and our boys are being slaughtered. With the very undeniable reality that there are decrease than 3000 deaths at this aspect. it is the least deadly conflict we've ever fought. There footing has no foothold. Thats why they use the milinia deaths as a focal aspect. i.e the only thousandth 2000th next stands proud because the 3000th demise. those sound actual wonderful and it creates a experience of awe of their spirits, a experience of euphoria that provides them rationalization for his or her exhistance.

All too often, 'trust' is based on compelling, emotional rhetoric at the podium. Bush can't do that. All he can do is plainly and simply tell us what is going on.
Hitler was able to earn a lot more 'trust' than Bush ever will. The emotional performances of Howard Dean, John Kerry and others are designed to do the same.
It is a sad fact that people 'trust' those who push their emotional buttons more than those who give them the dry, boring details.
To make things worse, Leftists use age-old 'agit-prop' to generate distrust. Negativity. Angst. It works on a substantial percentage of the population. That's why they do it. It is almost as impossible for Bush to overcome that as it was for Jews, Christians, Expressionist Artists and Gypsies to overcome the negative agit-prop aimed at them by Hitler.
Leftists try to generate so much negativity and dis-trust that the President can no longer do his job. That is how they gain power for themselves - through deception and negative propaganda.
I respect that Bush is determined to do his job no matter what the Left throw at him.

Only stupid people wouldnt support a way because of the president. It wouldnt matter if the president was my best friend, if I dont support something, the man who is in charge will not change my mind. If the president changed, I wouldnt be all excited and patriotic about the way.

My support is actually there, but I think we need to lay pressure on the iraqis to actually do something for themselves. It's been 4 years, and they can get a decent police force or a reasonable army put together to support us.
Add to that no politician there seems to be even remotely effective. That damned place deserved Saddam.
