Almay has an awesome line of shadows that help bring your eye colors out. For green they go with a purplish color and green. I use it and so does my daughter, it looks really nice. Don't go too crazy on the green though.

I suggest using a light brown, for light brown is a natural looking color and brings out that tiny bit of brown in your eyes, which makes eyes POP! I suggest trying teenage makeup brands like Icing from claires, for that kind of makeup is more nautral looking and not so intense like things like maybelline or Avon.

When doing your make-up remember that complimentary colors will bring features out. If your eyes are greenish/brown, violets and pinks will complement them and bring out the color of your eye. Be careful with the depth of color though, if your eyes are small use lighter colors - if your eyes are large use darker colors.

When choosing eye shadow and liner colors, choosing a color opposite on the color wheel from your eye color will bring out your eyes the most. I happen to have green eyes too and plums, lavenders and purples tend to make my eyes pop the most. Purple is opposite of green on a traditional color wheel.

use gold and brown.... yes. it would totally bring your eyes out. never use the same color as your eyes. it just covers it all up and all they will be loking at is your makeup. not eyes.
