I have friend that spends all his free time consoling a girl that had her first break up a month ago. he wont hang out with any of his friends including me. I think that this girl is manipulating him to get his attention. I know that break ups are hard but he is with her six hours a day straight and if hes not she guilt trips him. Is this healthy for him?

could it be possible that your friend enjoys the time he spends with this girl.Does she know something about him that would make him respond to a guilt trip? If she is playing him as you think time will tell, because she will replace him with someone else or make up with the person who broke her heart.

From someone who has been in a similar situation, it depends on what they are talking about. If the girl has a serious problem that she feels ony htis boy understands, and she really needs to work through it, than he's just tryign to lend a helpign hand to a friend in need. He should want to hang out with his friends though, over all, it's unhealthy to just spend all of your time with just one person, so just try to invite him to more things and do more thigns that he's really interested and he'll come in time, it may not be completely healthy, but if he feels he really is obliged to help, I believe he should.

He obviously likes her and she likes the attention.
He will eventually get tired of it and move on.
Just give it some time. It may be the only way she thinks she can get his attention. Maybe it will develop into a relationship and maybe not. Just let your friend do his thing and learn on his own.

Some people love saving people,drama.Looks like his way of trying to hook up with her.He likes her . I say its hard to be "just friends"with the opposite sex.Are you interested in him?If not let him have his relationship with a girl.Friendships change as we grow and you need to focus on another Friend.Good Luck

True friends stick by each other. What he is doing is not wrong unless he's states that he is tired of consoling her. He may like her and is sincere about "being there for her". What does it matter to you any way, do you like him/her and want his/her attention for yourself??

unfortunately you can't control your friends life and you need to let him make his own mistakes. which it sounds like he is doing. all you can do is be there sor him when it all falls apart. you also sound jealous of the time he is spending with her so you need to address your feelings for him. good luck.
