Personally, I am because they refer to interracial dating as a short term thing, like a fling or rush, something for the moment, something that's not serious.

Maybe it's me, I don't know.
I want to know if I am the only person who feels this way, maybe I'm not.

I want opinions.

Ryanlas, I'm not even mad at you.
I asked for opinions and I got it.
Thanks.

Never heard the term used this way. Now that I know, I could really care less than less.

I think to many peoples feelings are hurt by petty things. Our nation has become "pussified". there's a new derogatory word for you to whine about.
Everyone is running around whining about this and that and not accomplishing anything but adding another line to the "to do" list of some attorney. Get over it. If you don't like it. ignore it. look the other way... whatever... If things like petty words or terms bother you so much you have to much time on your hands. Find something productive to do. That will make you feel better about yourself. Do something you and others can be proud of. People admire that.

In 1991 Spike Lee, famous African American director made a film called Jungle Fever starring Wesely Snipes and I liked it a lot.

"Spike Lee's 1991 story about an interracial relationship and its consequences on the lives and communities of the lovers (Wesley Snipes, Annabella Sciorra) is one of his most captivating and focused films. Snipes and Sciorra are very good as individuals trying to reach beyond the limits imposed upon them for reasons of race, tradition, sexism, and such. Lee makes an interesting and subtle case that they are driven to one another out of frustration with social obstacles as well as pure attraction--but is that enough for love to survive? John Turturro is featured in a subplot as an Italian American who grows attracted to a black woman and takes heat from his numbskull buddies." --Tom Keogh

The thing is that Spike Lee is a very radical director and is not afraid to include sex, violence and racism in his films so although he uses the term Jungle Fever as though it is normal, you can be sure it isn't. It's like using the word ****** which is used by black people amongst themselves but remains taboo for whites and is used in racism. The term 'Jungle Fever' is inherently offensive as is the impression given by the word 'Jungle'.
