i guess i should clarify that i rear ended another driver. there was no damage to her car but some to mine. no the front end itsnt pushed in or my hood is torn up. it looks like nothing is wrong until you really look at it. i feel like an idiot. he says hes gonna have to take the front off to see if there is more damage. what am i going to do?

Hi...I once collected 2 estimates for body repair to give to my insurance company & they sent me a check minus my $200 deductible. However, I then found a third repair company that repaired my car nicely for $200 less than my first 2 estimates. Therefore, despite my deductible, the repair did not cost me anything.

I tell everybody the same thing... GET THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR YOUR CAR! It doesn't matter if you plan to service it yourself or if your boyfriend is the biggest clutz with cars that ever walked the earth... They sure do come in handy when you want to have something done to it and you haven't a clue if they are ripping you off or not though!
I have a '90 Honda and the whole front bumper assembly including turn signals and side marker lights, comes off the car with the removal of six bolts and unplugging of four lamps. That's it. Everything is exposed at that point and easily inspected.
It sounds to me like all you need is headlight adjusting. Don't get me wrong, the rear ending obviously wasn't hard enough to even set off your airbags so you probably have hardly any damage at all but there is a lot of plastic in cars these days and little tabs can snap pretty easily and let things fall apart later. These kinds of repairs can run the bill up pretty steep too.
I think you are being ripped off for $930... but I don't know the details of what they plan to do. Cars aren't that complicated... give it a thorough going over yourself.. take a close look at the headlights and see if you can see any broken hardware. You might even find little bubble levels that let you adjust the headlights yourself! Just make sure you are on a flat surface if you do.
If insurance is involved, I would have a completely different answer!
Good luck!

Probably, but there may be some difference between the official dealers for your make of vehicle and the smaller independent repairers.
if it is NOT and insurance matter, make sure the repairers are aware of that - it may well make a difference to the amount they will charge.
If it is an insurance matter, they will charge for every single item which needs attention - if you are paying for it, they may be able to make savings, without compromising safety.

i would have to say if you really cant see anythings wrong, and the care isnt shaking when you drive on the free way why bother taking it to the shop and getting ripped off.
take your insurance company the highest estimate you can get for your car.ex.900 bucks. when you get the money you can just keep it why waste it all on fixing something thats really just cosmetic that you dont even notice anyway, unless your just anal about that and really dont gotta worry about cash,id use the money on bills or a vacation...

You would think so, but then again some places use original equipment and some use after market equipment so there can be a significant difference.
I would get more then 1 quote.
Ask friends for references.

get more quotes. You also need to ask people where they got work done, and if they liked it, get quotes form them too. Word of mouth is very important!!! The paint work the shop does is most important.

You should always get more quotes, sometimes quotes can be as high as 50% more, but get quotes only from some one who is recommended by your friend or coworkers.
