What muscles in the legs are used when running a mile?

all the ones you never knew were there. I wish your question was more specific. I used to run in college and I still run open races. Stretch yoru quads and hamstrings. Do an IT band stretch... basically lean to one side. its the tendon that runs from your hip to your knee. Stretch your calves and roll out your ankles. Flexibility actually helps you become a better runner.

oh also... you would be suprised how much you use your ab and arm muscles... fyi
