Personally, McDonald's is one of my favorite fast food places, but your concern isn't with their food, it's with THE order taker that thought her phone call was more important than serving her customers. As a lot of the other people have said, the problem lies with how this ONE girl acts on the job. She more than likely does this quite often and will keep doing it until something stops her. The fact that this just happened to you means that she probably hasn't been reprimanded yet or severely enough. A good manager knows that good customer service is vital to the success of their business. When customers are treated badly they often refuse to shop at a place, so the managers as part of managing need to be open to customer's feedback, good or bad. Your letting the management know about this girl's inattention could be what makes them take appropriate action in this case so that either she gets her priorities straight, they reassign her to a non-customer service detail, or they simply dismiss her- but then she will probably end up doing the same thing wherever else she goes. Let's hope that she figures out that she should take her personal life to work with her!!

LOL!!!
The longer they are paying for it, the happier I am. I've been known to leave the phone off the hook for quite awhile when I call "800" numbers...
