I strongly/highly recommend Everything is Illuminated.

It stars Elijah Wood as Jonathan who goes to the Ukraine in order to meet the women who said his grandfather from the Nazis. Along the way he meets he humble translator, Alex (Eugene Hutz) who's English is not so "proximal."

Along with Alex's Grandfather and his seeing eye dog, Sammy Davis Jr. Jr., Jonathan goes on a road trip across the Ukraine to find the truth of his grandfathers past.

You'll laugh, you'll cry and in this truly wonderfully movie by Liev Schreiber. (Who did a great job on his first directorial outing.)

P.S.

Bring your toe tapping shoes, the soundtrack is the stuff dreams are made of!
