I'm 32 and I did the exact same thing only I was 11 and it was 3 months between my 1st and 2nd periods. Don't worry, its normal to be irregular when you first start your periods.

Your body takes time at first to adjust with your period. Usually between two to fours years. Have you lost any weight, had any stressful events in your life or dramatic change in your diet? These can cause your period change dramatically or not show up. And some women just get periods only a few times a year. If you really feel uncomfortable go to the doctor and get a physical to be safe. They could put you on birth control to regulate it if there is any problems.

Sometimes you will not get a regular monthly period for awhile after you first start. If you are not sexually active, you dont have to worry about pregnancy but if you are, you should see a doctor.

when you first start your period, don't expect a normal cycle. It's totally normal for it to come and go but always be ready, carry a pad or tampon in your purse so you don't have any embarrassing moments!

you are young and your hormones are still getting going but if you are sexually active and not using protection there is still achance of getting pregnant have your parents take you to the doctor. stress and illness can affect a woman's & girl's cycle. peer pressure counts as stress.
