Since the hardware is not the same, you're going to have all kinds of issues. Drivers won't be correct, etc. IF you're very lucky, windows will pick up the PnP devices and prompt for drivers, etc. However, with the hardware so significantly different, many programs, including windows, may see it as a second install, and prompt for license numbers, etc. IF you've got all the software media, and IF you've got all the license numbers, and IF the hardware is compatible enough, you may get it accomplished in a few hours.

When you install XP from a CD, the installer customizes installation for the computer it is being installed on. It will just install components that are needed specifically for that computer and won't install unnecessary components.
If you install from another computer you might end up with stuff that you don't need and not have the stuff that you need. Most likely though, the computer won't even run.
The one time this will work is if the computers are identical. Then you can mirror the hard drive and everything should be OK.

You would need serial numbers and/or install disks for all your applications including XP. You would also need to install drivers for the hardware in the new system.
If you are installing the disks into an identical system. Then it would work like it did in the original system.

You need God help to do that.
It's not possible because of Registry setting that is the primary reason. Computer to Computer > Copy happens, where the client computer registry is not copied to host computer and cannot be copied.
Secondary reason is software is dependant of so many OS system files such as .dll files. At the time of installation software makes link wish those files.
Hope i able to make you understand.
Enjoy mate
