You have a condition called pagophagia, or compulsive eating of ice. This is a form of pica, a condition in which people crave and eat non-food substances like ice, chalk, paper, laundry soap, starch, hair, dirt, clay, or paint. There have been several reports linking the craving of ice to iron-deficiency anemia (low blood count as a result of an iron-deficiency). In fact, there’s even a website called “All About Chewing Ice,” which also has a support group for people with this condition.
There are many causes of iron deficiency anemia (IDA), but the most common cause is menstrual blood loss. As a result, IDA is extremely common in women. Iron deficiency is so pervasive in pregnant women that we routinely recommend prenatal vitamins with iron for most pregnant women. IDA is very easily diagnosed with a simple blood test and very easily treated with iron supplements. If you need iron supplements, you may want to also take Vitamin C supplements to increase absorption of the iron. While there is nothing dangerous about chewing ice other than the risk of ruining your teeth, this could be a useful clue that something else is going on.

I started eating ice like crazy when I was pregnant too, (and haven't stopped 3 years later.) I was anemic (low iron) and had to take iron pills. I probably am still anemic, but don't take iron pills, and still chew lots of ice:)

That is a coincedence that you said that because this is exactly what I am doing right now. I was told that women who eat ice is lacking in iron. I am not sure if that's true or not...

I love to suck on ice, I suck on it everyday. It's a craving that I have..

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/7q5sH

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

i did the same thing and the doc said i was anemic (VERY low iron)

get your doctor to give you an iron pill or get one over the counter and take your prenatal vitamins!

and keep munching on ice chips, its a much more fun way of drinking water, at least you get to hear 'munch...munch...munch', but remember...big pieces of ice will harm your teeth!!!

Holy Cow me too, I cannot stand the sound. My husband would chew ice before and I would make him stop because it drove me up a wall and now I cannot. I did hear that it is very common later in a pregnancy, but more common if it is your second, which it is for me!!! Maybe we are getting ready for the long labor when ice is all you get!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes
