Why do people find the need to be so nasty to others when answering questions? Yes some questions are annoying such as the "am I pregnant?" question over and over again. But there are some questions that are asked out of worry and concern about their situation. Panic can make you desperate to get help and doctors aren't always available and asking here to get other opinions seems harmless before going to the ER and feeling silly when it turns out to be nothing. After I am sure a lot of people look back on their questions and realize their question may have been silly as well but it didn't seem that way when they asked it. People need to stop being so cruel. It is almost as if it makes them feel better about themselves to talk bad or nasty towards others. Maybe a few need to get down off their high horse and stop thinking that they are holier than thou.

pink_karistakat I am not attacking or targetting anyone. My comment was a generalization to those people who think they are better than another and have the right to talk down to others. I do not judge people nor would I insult someone for asking a "dumb" question because I've been just as guilty at times with asking questions that seem silly after I've asked it. I just think people should treat others as they wish to be treated.

Why? Because people think being snarky is fashionable.

I totally agree with you, but there is nothing that anyone can do about it. Some people are just miserable and misery loves company. I asked a question once about Fibroids and someone responded; why don't you just go on the internet and look it up yourself instead of asking us...

I was so upset because you made a great point what you said regarding answering questions that, I could go on the internet however, I'm on yahoo questions and answers, maybe a doctor or a nurse could read what I'm asking and help me out. People that are rude like that should just ignore peoples questions or stay off this site. I am happy that you brought this up, so that does ignorant individuals could realize how cruel they are...

your so right about that I have so far been lucky and have not had that happen to me. But the reason we are all here is for advice and that is why we ask things may seem like something silly to other people but gee get a grip world we are all different and we all know about different things. It would be a sad world if we were all the same. people need to know these things if somebody things well that is a silly thing to ask then don't answer that question just for the points its not as if the points are going to get us something its just there to show others that we have been answering things that people need to know. I say to those people get a life. Are they all so perfect they need to understand what somebody does not know that person may well know something that they want to know later on down the track. everybody just be nice if you can't say something nice don't say it at all.

I agree, there is no need to be unpleasant if you think its a stupid question follow the ol' golden rule "if cant say something nice dont say anything at all!!!"
People are here to recieve information and help. There is only so much information on the internet and its true Docs arent always available. Plus every women is different what happend with you may not be what hapens with someone else so maybe some of us should grow alittle compassion for our fellow man and not me so rude.
Ok, Im done. Thank you!!!

When I asked my first questions I was shocked at how people can be so rude, too...especially to strangers who are asking legit questions. What you need to remember is that there are no regulations on these people, so you're dealing with 14 year old boys, clinically depressed teenagers, moms dad and their angst ridden kids constantly without ever knowing who is who. There are idiots who get on here and "report" you for no reason, say controversial things just to get a reaction, and try to hurt people that they'll never see or meet out of cowardly, lame control issues. You're lucky if you get one or two "real" answers, so just be thankful for that! I guess the world isn't always kittens and rainbows, huh? :) I hate it, too.

i agree with you, i notice the people who ask the questions leave details and they are defensive. pregnancy is an amazing thing that is new to a lot of us and we need support from the wiser women not criticism. personally i'm scared enough by all the new things and yahoo answers is very informative and i like that most of the women have been through this a number of times and the advice is usually very helpful.

I totally agree with you. If they can't offer some advice and they just have to be plain ignorant, why even waste the time to comment at all. I am disturbed by those asking how to cause miscarriages and what not but not to leave a completely nasty comments to them.

You're right. I'll admit I have given some harsh answers, but mostly to the redundant "am I pregnant" or "why is it wrong to have sex at 14" and things like that, but for the most part I try to give people my true insight and help, and I expect the same from them.

I agree, but I've also had people be super critical over a bloody typo as well. I guess it depends on the person answering... if they want to be nasty... ignore their answer.
