Gandalfa is the Czech spelling of Gandalf, who is a (male) dwarf in Old Norse mythology.

The character appears in a Creation epic known as the Völuspá (Prophecy of the Seeress).

Gandalf, the well known one, was an ancient, wise beyond grasp, male wizard in J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy, TheLord of the Rings. I could be wrong, but I think Tolkien was a Swede....he was from one of those lands that have an ancient history of believing in fairies, elven-folk, dwarves and trolls, orcs, goblins, etc. I was wrong, upon researching Tolkien's origin: England after all.
