I got a new bubble tipped anemone 4 days ago, it looked healthy in the shops tank, once home, a few hours later i noticed a minute tear in it near the base, it swells then expells water all the time and looks 1/2 dead, water nitrites/ph and amonia levels are all normal.
The clows fish wont go near it either, is this a sign of imminent death?...shop was useless in their information,,, any one got any ideas?.... thanks muchly..Cate.

Clown fish can be particular when choosing what type of anemone to live in, they will accept your anemone but it can take up to a week. Did you acclimatize your anemone slowly in order to get it used to your tanks salinity etc? Unfortunately, captive anemones don't heal well once injured and are not known to thrive for long. Some tanks cannot seem to handle them and in others they can live for a few years.
