There are some radiation shieds sold for CRT's, however they are totally unnecessary. The radiation given off by a CRT is miniscule compared to natural everyday exposure. And no glass will not block it nor do contrast and brightness affect it. Just relax and enjoy. Here's a link that might make you feel better.

Go for LCD screen monitor if you are planning to buy a new one or go n get a radiation screen (mostly they just reduce the brightness which u can decrease urself from monitor settings!!)

yes, everyone is right, but I would also suggest buying an LCD screen too! If you laptop is a very old one, such as an IBM 380XD and up to the old dells, dont use it anymore. The older ones can ommit more radiation than the newer ones. I think that applies with the old monitors as well, possibly I dont know!

maybe the brightness and contrast but you could also just get a lcd monitor no electrons hitting a lumen screen there. and the shadowmask that illuminates is a shield in itself so if you monitor is less than 5 years old you dont really have to worry

Um um um um um um ... if you have a regular CRT type of monitor the face of it is glass already. I would hazard a bet that the electron stream would go right through the glass like it isn't there. What DOES affect electron beams are magnets, so if you put powerfull magnets in front of you the beams would be bent, but probably the image on your screen would be wacked too.

Other than that, try a lead vest.

The amount of radiation coming out of a computer monitor is minimal. Stop worrying about such trivial issues and worry about more serious issues like safety belts, not smoking, access to health care, PLEASE!

Maybe, but what you should do is get a flat screen LCD monitor, no radiation then.

lcd monitors don't have radiation.

but it's still good to cover the screen with plexiglass to keep people from touching the screen so they don't press too hard and destroy the places they touch
