I know that intro isn't really a question but here goes... I just got a 92 Celica GT and the brakes went bad so I had Midas fix them they repaired every brake and rotar on all the wheels. There was a roaring noise from the back left side brake and I took it back to Midas and they said there was nothing wrong. I then got the CVC boots replaced on it and the steering wheel was unaligned and they said it wasn't anything they could have done. Now my car is totaled after spinning around a corner and going into a ditch, I know my car could take this turn at speeds well over what I was going, So there was no excuse for what happened... I wanna know what I can do to look for a brake problem since the Toyota place here won't help us out. I know Midas did something wrong but do you think there is anyway to prove that, it was there fault and what can I get from them if I get that proof?

An investigation can prove the cause of the accident if the evidence has not been tampered with. What kind of shape is the evidence, the car, in? Has anyone else looked at it since the accident? How much time has elapsed? How much money do you want to spend to prove Midas' fault? It is possible that it is simply not worth the cost and effort. It is possible that the evidence is not reliable, do to possible tampering, or has been destroyed. If you go to court, then you will be under investigation. The burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused.

As a semi-experienced mechanic, I don't think there is any way you can find the evidence needed to proof your case. As an impartial "judge", I would say if you can't prove, you're not going to win. Because driver error is a strong possibility, thus the judge will make you prove otherwise. You have no proof. So you lose. Sorry.

Even I question your veracity. Your story does not "add up" to truthfullness. It's simply to hard to believe it is true, after so many experienced mechanics have worked on your car. You blame everyone but yourself. Just the format of your letter tell me......you are lying somewhere in this story!

And the judge will clearly see this.

Ok it seems to me that if thy were the last person to check it out and thy said there was nothing wrong, It proves to me and a court that thy were negulent in there work.
If thy did all the work it make them responsable for your car. Yes thy can say you took the turn to fast, but when you tryed to break the breaks failed. That fact alone makes it there fault.
Since the steering wheel was realined, it could have been alined wrong making you think that when the wheel was stright it was infact turning the wheel

First I would talk to the owner. If that gets you no where taalk to the news papers and the local TV station. Thy dont like investation . If that dont work File a law suit agenst them.
Make copys of all the recepts and keep a track of all that was done.
Basicly sue the hell out of them, for your car, the labor thy did to the car and all the recepts.

Slow down on corners aliitle. If there was a problem it would have happened on the lot or shortly after. Not the next day.

you should have gotten a second opinion for a grinding sound.

never go to midas... learn how to do your own repairs, that way, if you have something like this grinding sound happen, you can look into it yourself. and it will save you money.

as Far as I know, there is not any way to prove that it was midas' fault.

file a law suiet and also show your insurance company the repair order for your brakes mabe they will investagate but i think you would have better luck fileing a law suiet and if you can prove there was a brake problem then you got them by the marbles so take you car to a local repair shop and let them find a brake problem
