People do strange things for love. I think an experience in a new country would be awesome, i am sure you would have a new out look on life. As far as school goes, there is always homeschooling. And if this man is a great man, the kids will love him too, and all could be a happy family when they back to the USA. I do not think she is crazy at all...sounds like she is determined and knows what she wants, and she is being responsible by taking the kids with her..that shows she needs her kids as well as this man. We all make sacrafies in life.

I think that is very selfish. As a mother her number one priority should be her kids... not some man she just met. What if it doesn't work out?? What if he's a psycho... and he does some sick **** to her and her kids?
Maybe if she REALLY has to go off and have a fling with this guy in Africa, she can leave her kids with family or friends so they can continue to go to school and live a normal life... even if she wants an abormal one!!

That is definitely irresposible. But, it could aslo be an irreplacable experience for those kids. Why can't she apply to home school them and take their work to Africa? That way they wouldn't get behind in their schooling, but would still be able to experience another culture. I have to say that if I had the chance to take my pre teenage children to live in another country for 6 months, I would do whatever I had to to make it happen. Kids need to experience things beyond America so that they can understand taht we are not the be all and end all.

Its not smart and she should be careful, people there do really everything to get out of Africa, of course there are always exceptions to the rule and maybe its a nice man (till now) but still, I'm scared about it.

well, I assume it is Morocco that she is visiting. She should really be careful, some of these men will doing anything to get out of the country. he will probably marry her there so he will get out and obtain a citizenship in USA.
but, if this is legit. the schools in Morocco are very good. she can enroll them in one if possible. so, they do not miss out.
look at it this way -----they will learn at least 2 languages (french & arabic) and a different culture. there are American Language centers there ,also.
These Moroccan men are great lovers & husbands,if they are for real. your mother needs to be very careful though. some are desparate and will hurry into any relationship to get what they want.

I wouldn't advise it. The kids are at a stage when lots of changes are going on with their physiology, schooling, etc, and don't really need a dose of culture shock on top of it.
I have a brother-in-law that's Morrocan and know that there are quite large cultural differences.

which country in Africa? but u're still right, she shouldn't take them just because she met some guy on the internet. but u never know they might enjoy their experience there. just make sure she contacts the consulat or ambassy of the country she's originally from. good luck
