Nobody - absolutely nobody. Clint Eastwood is the epitome of cool in those movies just like he was in the Dirty Harry flicks. It would be a sin to even think about remaking one of those movies, let alone doing it!

Brad Pitt????? Thats an insult!!! Though a huge western fan i dont actually like the spaghettis purely cos of the bloody lip-synching. Sayin that though i do like Clint (prefer the Duke). I dont think anybody today has the same presence as Clint has and thats whats needed for the cowboy roles he played. Looks and build wise Christian Bale may be able to pull it off (although hes english) and the fact hes a method actor i think would help him

Hmm. stable options. the guy without guy (Clint Eastwood) - Sergio Leone's money trilogy Mad Max (Mel Gibson) - The Mad Max trilogy "Snake" Plisken (Kurt Russell) - get away from manhattan and get away from L.A. Wez, from the line Warrior, gets an honorable point out. So does The Terminator.

Tough one...
I liked Eric Bana as a tough guy or if he could get leaner maybe Benicio del Toro.
