I know snails have a shell, but does that make a difference in their typology? and why do snails have shells and slugs, alas, are homeless?

Snails are closely related to slugs, but they are not the same. Snails are not born with a shell, either. If they were the same, why don't slugs just go put on a shell? I think snails are more vurnerable than slugs, so they have to wear shells, but that's what I think. They're both gross, yet cool.

i think that snails are basically slugs that have found a shell during a special season or maybe snails probably grow their shells from birth. maybe like the salamander they are both the same species and just one of them, depending on their environment would grow a shell.
