PLEASE help! How do I get over this?

Ok, my boyfriend of two years cheated on me over a month ago. He left me for this other girl. After a month, he came back to me. I was sooooo miserable and depressed, so I took him back. He said what he did was the biggest mistake in his whole life. Now, we are really happy, but I can't get over what he did. It hurts really bad every time I think about it. How do I get over it? I want to be happy, but it's so hard. How do I move on and just be happy? Please give serious answers and don't just say he's going to cheat on me again. I really need help. This is killing me.

Okay this is a serious answer. Perhaps he is telling you the truth; if he is then he should be willing to help you get through this time of distrust and grieving.

He's going to need to show you that you can trust him. How? That's the tough question. I think you need to talk this out with a good listener; a counsellor; it would be good if he came along and took part in the counselling.

If you can't afford counselling then ask someone "impartial" to help such as a pastor from a church or...?
Has he cut off all contact with that other girl? Ask him.

Take care of yourself and try not to think too much about this.

I really don't know what to tell you. It's just how much are you willing to forget? You say , We are really happy, but you sure
don't sound happy. You are dwelling on what he did, and truthfully
I would never take back a man that cheated on me. I have too
much self respect, but that's just the way I feel. If you can forgive,
and forget then you can move ahead.

Well if your still not over it i dont think you will ever be because you'll never forget that he left you for someone else and if you cant get past the fact that he cheated you will never be happy with him cause there is that little part in the back of your mind thinking will he do it again?

Why would you even take him back? You probably won't ever get over it if you can't forget it. A relationship is based on trust, and when that's broken, what's the point of carrying on? So he can do it again, say he's sorry, and you'll take him back? You're not married or engaged to him...you owe him nothing...but I would think you would owe it to yourself to have an upstanding, faithful guy in your life.

To me it seems like you can't trust him anymore and I don't blame you but Just think if you really want to be with him cause you can do better my your self. It's really not a way to forget it all you can do if forgive
