..Yes... for the first year it most likely won't be "normal". Do your best of keeping record of it and then you'll know how many days it's been from month to month. It might take a year or two to have a more set schedule

It's possible to have one and then not have one for many months and once they start on a more regular basis they still won't be completely regular. It is also possible to become pregnant if a young girl has had intercourse after she gets her first period. Usually a young woman does not ovulate on a regular basis and that is why the periods are not regular. A lot of young women opt to go on birth control pills to regulate their periods but that is not what nature ever intended. I think if a young woman reaches 17 or 18 she should consult with a doctor if her periods have not regulated.

Sure! Happens all the time. Also, your cycle will probably match the cycle of the most senior woman in your household for a while.
If she's approaching menopause or is irregular, yours will be the same. You can save some money on sanitary products by hanging out with women who only menstruate twice a year ; )

hello yankeegirl, yes it is possible for your periods to be strange if you have just started getting them or if you are quite young as your body has to get into a routine, but if you have had sex you need to go to the doctor to make sure you are not pregnant and if you are really worried that something is wrong speak to an older girl that you trust and get her to go with you to the doctor or to help you speak to your mum. hope everything is fine.

It is definitely possible - especially with the first one or so. A lot of girls aren't regular right off.
