Both. Yahoo answers is an online version of Jerry Springer, but Jerry Springer is a direct representation of the American consciousness.

I guess it really depends on the person answering. I myself posted a question today that got just stupid responses. If there not stupid responses it's people blasting you for a typo... Ultimately I've had a pretty cool experience with Yahoo. It's neat to ask questions to a large forum and have unflitered responses from folks that are interested. I just wish all the Jerry Springer types that wasted time and energy weren't around. But unfortunatly I guess we have to take the bad with the good.

There are more good people on here than the "Jerry Springers" of the world. The few flakes that ask or answer are the ones who would give "Answers" a bad reputation.

Personally I come here to rant and rave and ask questions that I really do need answers to basically it is entertaining when I am bored because I have no life lol and also it keeps me thinking and on my toes some days plus I get to see what other folks think and are doing wondering or talking about! Yahoo Answers is the best free entertainment on the Internet and I for one hope it stays that way for many years to come !! Go Yahoo!!!

Sometimes I find it to be helpful. Othertimes It reminds me of the Jerry Springer show. You just can't see the people in action.

IMHO both. Lots of silly things, for sure, but if you have a peek at some of the chemistry, physics & mathematics pages there is lots of serious Q & A happening. I answered a biology question for someone & they said afterward that their textbook hadn't arrived yet & their parents didn't know anything the topic & couldn't help them.

;-)

Okay, honestly, I am here to goof off. I only visit this site to kill time while at work. I do laugh out loud from time to time regarding the stupidity you have mentioned. And shock comes to mind as well. I didn't know I was so naive.
