ram means random access memory. this has to be installed on your computer's motherboard. take it to a computer repair shop if you don't know how to do it yourself.

Not sure that's an entirely comprehensible question, but basically you buy RAM like you would anything else - from a shop (online is your best bet). If you're running Windows XP like most PC users, you just plug it in to your motherboard and off you go.
But first, make sure you check to see if your motherboard has spare slots, and do some research to see what type of RAM it will accept. Usually if you type the name of your motherboard into Google you will find a site that will tell you this.
You can also set up 'virtual memory' on your hard drive as a temporary measure - it allows your computer to use part of your hard drive for temporary memory operations. It's a lot slower than proper RAM but better than nothing. Use the search feature in Windows to search for virtual memory, that will teach you how to set this up.

Ram memory is sold in "sticks" at computer stores...about 1.5 by 4.5 inches, it is inserted standing on edge into the motherboard...go to my computer, select "view system information" in the menu to the left side, and at the bottom of the screen it will show how much RAM u have...i'd go for at least a gig there, adding to what u already have....thier should be at least two slots for memory, so just add the new card in next to the old one...ok, so do the math (how much more RAM do i need?), get some info on your computer together (type, year, model #), and for god sakes, be very, very careful not to discharge any static electricity whatsoever while adding more RAM...solid state component can be damaged by very small amounts of electric current (like 20 millivolts), so be sure to discharge urself by touching the metal case of the computer with one hand whist removing/installing the old/new memory

You will need to go to your local computer administrator and ask them how much more RAM will cost to be added onto your computer. Prices vary on where you go and how much more RAM you want added to your computer. Just scan around and see how uch it will cost.

you go to the store and tell them what kind of computer you have and buy more. 2gb would be great, then you open the computer and install it into the mother board.
