Can a small mammal tell what's poisonous for it by instinct?

If not starving and having several choices; one being poison to it. Willl it stay clear? Any species have poison averting method/strategies. Speculative.

You are a mammal. What do your instincts tell you about such things? Nothing I bet. So answer is no. On the other hand we learn from such bad choices and may avoid repeating the same mistake twice.

animals in the wild probably do, but my dog is such a dummy i have to watch her all the time!
