I don't watch any soaps, but my mum and sister watch both Emmerdale and Corrie. My mum is from the East End of London and she can't stand Eastenders as she says it's nothing like the real East End and people there are nowhere near that miserable.
As I said, I wouldn't usually waste my time on soaps, but when I'm visiting, I tend to join my mum and sister watching both of these and I have to say that both Emmerdale and Corrie have improved since I used to have to watch it with my ex-girlfriend years ago. I wouldn't say that either are brilliant TV, but they pass the time nicely and compared to most other things on terrestrial TV, I guess they're pretty good. Corrie is funny and the actors look like they're all having a good time. Eastenders is just depressing and I'd rather eat my own foot than watch it.

Coronation Street. In Canada I've switched between channels so many times that I don't know what's happening, other than one channel is showing episodes from 2004 (or 2005) and the other 2001. I have managed to keep track of what occurs in Corrie!

Eastenders is a million times better than Coronation Street. My husband would agree with me. He will call me up from work to remind me to tape it for him. LOL! Don't tell him I said that though.

Corrie, Eastenders is only for the manic depressants. Though Stacey is a good character.

If there on, there on, can take or leave either or. Sometimes that are interesting but at others I wonder why I bother at all. Would much rather prefer to see some really good programmes but they seem to be few and far between. Oh well, guess they have to keep an eye on the ratings.
