first of all, we are in Canada, and it needs to be something general. Our school's mascot is a tiger. For example: I was thinking a zoo theme might be neat.....
I NEED MORE IDEAS!

First off, ignore Captain Ron. This is a great question that deserves serious answers. Next, I hope these suggestions help...
1. Jungle theme. You could have cool vine and leaf backgrounds, with tigers and monkeys, etc. A cool idea for the cover would be half of a tiger's face with your school's name sort of reflected in the eye.
2. "Night Out" theme. Dark blue and purple backgrounds, with stars and moons. You could make it really dark and edgy.
3. Technology theme. Different pages that look like cell phones, computer screens, TVs, iPods, etc. You could have the cover be a huge assortment of technological gadgets and such, with your school's name mxed in.
4. A Canadian Pride theme.
5. Take really popular song lyrics and turn them into an idea.
6. Take a certain movie or TV show and give the yearbook that theme. (Ex. a Pirates Of The Caribbean theme, with a captain jack sparrow look alike contest and sort of a pirate theme.)
7. Have your classmats submit suggestions. It's their school, they know more about it than everyone here on Yahoo! Answers.

You could have a comic book theme. Find out who people's favorite super heroes are. You could see if anyone can draw very well to draw people as super heroes.
Or find out who people's favorite musical artist are and have a musical theme. You could have lyrics in the background. And maybe have a page dedicated to the musicians at the school.

Well, our school did a "movie" theme last year. It was quite interesting. One of the pages had a birds-eye view photo of the students, standing in the shape of those director thingies (what the use when they say "cut!").
