The girls name was Kal Khalique and she was 15 at the time.Bono saw that she was being crushed against the barrier and probably saved her life by pulling her free. He then danced with her. I watched the whole of Live Aid and remember the incident very well. He was screaming at people to move back. It is strange that 21 years later, most reports just say that he picked her out of the crowd in order to dance with her.
