Yes, hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20. If we know what we know today, we could have ended WWII a lot sooner too. To ask it now belittles the efforts made then. Do you think there were better ways to save all those people burning to their deaths?! I bet you can.

The American government handle the aftermath of 911 very badly... the mistakes that your government made have been brushed under the carpet the problems in Iraq .... Afghanistan are all down to what happened that day 5 years ago ... yet no problems have been solved and still more innocent people are dying ...

The guns blazing doesn't work ... its about time the talking started only then maybe the dying will stop ....

If you mean should the US have reacted differently (i.g., not gone into Afghanistan and then Iraq)... there are always other ways to react. Would those ways have had a better result? I don't know.

I honestly don't think that we could have realistically done anything else. These people attacked our home. They didn't attack a military target. They attacked normal, everyday people going to their damn jobs. How else are you suppossed to put your foot down and stop someone bringing war into your country but by flying your army over there and saying... "Hi! You wanted to fight about this... okay... here we go."

Probably not the most popular opinion, but in effect that's what we did, and I'm okay with that decision.

All military efforts should have been placed on finding Osama Bin Ladan. It is a sham that we attacked Iraq. A total waste of resources.

Diplomatic efforts should also have been made. Instead, Bush created the Axis of Evil!

yes, our govt should have done more than just use military action
we should have talked to the Taliban leaders, too
we should have tried to understand what the attack meant
(Personally, I think OBL was taunting us into invading Afghanistan on purpose, and we fell into a trap)

Yeah we were too soft. Seriously by only going after Usama the way we did and not just going after the whole regime and other who supported them, we opened ourselves up for their growth as they have now. Nuke once or twice and be done.
