Hi there,

I hate to do this to you, but I can only come up with a partial answer, that is, as of October 2005, "Among high school students, 31.0 percent were engaged in some form of labor force activity..." according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report, "College Enrollment and Work Activity of 2005 High School Graduates"

I'm sure there was a report as of 2004 - happily it seems to use October as the reporting benchmark, so you're in luck there - but I can't spend the time to track it down. See the contact info on the report @ (1.) - the BLS could help you find the 2004 info you want.

Also see (2.) for more about youth and employment.

Also try the Bureau of Labor Statistics, they have loads of demographics on age groups working, what they pay, careers etc.
