Only people that can go under in an hypnotic state can be open to the power of suggestion.Statistics say only 1 out 5 people can
be hypnotized.

I can only assume the answer would be yes, just like the billions of other people in the world. Otherwise, there would be no point to television. The real trick is finding people who are sufficiently self-aware to be able to honestly answer to what degree they are suggestible. TV exists because advertisers know it is a potent tool for "manufacturing consent"(See Noam Chomsky) in viewers to go out and purchase all manner of crap that they don't need... and really wouldn't even want if they thought about it.

As to peer pressure, I am not completely beyond suggestion; but much more reluctant to cooperate with people who insist that I must do whatever it is they think I should.

Depends on if it ties in with what I already think or believe. I've been known to swim upstream of the popular opinion and I've also been known(to my shame) to cave in under peer pressure.

peer pressure is not something i worry about being 54.

but i do not allow what i see or hear to influence my own judgements

It actually creates a contradictory response...anyone who puts out mass advertising counts on the sheep being led into the corral.

I am open to all that shows its face in this world and to also to the forces we cannot touch..
but then I act apon my own
-filtering it through my educated, passionate being.., and with the powers of my own convictions..
