Well the second question is answered enough on here and elsewhere so I shall concentrate on the first one.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Terrorists hijacked four American Jetliners and used them as weapons against the United States. Two of these airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center, effectively killing thousands of people, and destroying the skyscrapers. One plane hit the Pentagon, doing extensive, but repairable, damage. The final plane was brought down by passengers, before it reached its goal (unknown target, but thought to be the White House). It crashed in an empty field in Pennsylvania.
Although chaos insued at first. (Gas Prices in Illinois rose to over $7.00/ gallon in some places) Americans bound together to show respect for the lost, and to search for survivors. We became one for a short period of time. But then the fight started. Many Americans believe that we took too long to strike back and others protested fighting back at all.
We have become divided and shall, I fear, soon fall.

America will never fall, i wont allow it. This is the best country in the world!!!
ok maybe not, but close.
September the 11 made us aware of how much is going on in the world around us. It was a terrible tragedy but i believe it showed how powerful we can be, if given the right motivation, like WWII. And all those ppl who dont like the war agains terrorism, do you think the ppl who killed the victims deserve to just get away with it?? I dont mean going in Iraq, cause thats different but i do believe all the terrorists should be wiped away from this earth for what they did.

The world's greatest and longest surviving democracy was attacked by islamic extremists for no clear-cut apparent reason. Other than they simply hate us.
What's wrong with America? You might ask instead "What's wrong with islam and those who follow the path of jihad yet do not follow the tenets of the religion?"
The barbarians are at our gates and we sit and fiddle while the nation burns.

Too many Americans are smug and think "we're so powerful--we have nothing to worry about." and that is exactly what the cowardly terrorists see as weakness. When the idiot in the White House keeps using "duh" in every other word he speaks, why wouldn't some Muslim looney get encouraged to strike again?
Applying "democracy" or "justice" won't work--there is no such concepts in the Arab world. Dropping a nuke or two on the other hand on Afghanistan or Iran might be a more powerful statement and a good chance that Bin Laden might be disintegrated also.
